P.M. UPDATE: Body 'has been back there for awhile,' official says

— The Medical Examiner's office is at the scene where a decomposed body was found near North Terrace and Capital streets.

"It looks like it's been back there for awhile," Muskogee County District Attorney Investigator Richard Slader said.

Muskogee Police found the body while investigating a crime scene in a field near North Terrace and Capital streets.

About an hour earlier, police found an arm on 12th Street after a dog dragged it onto the road, police said. The investigation moved south, where "not quite" the rest of a body was found, an official said. The body, head, but no feet have been located.

Because of the decomposition of the body, officials don't know if it is a male or female or could speculate on the cause of death.
