Railroad Day is from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Midland Valley Depot, 220 Elgin St., located in the Historic Depot District. You may climb aboard the vintage diesel engine for a guided tour about the history and mechanics of the engine or view the model train layout in the main exhibit hall.
There will also be games and coloring books for the kids and a hobo lunch. A presentations is planned on railroad history, and vintage railroad memorabilia will be displayed. The gift shop will be open with lots of railroad-related items available for purchase.
Cost for the event is $3 for adults, $1.50 for students, and under 6 free. Hobo lunch is $3.50 per person.
