Two Coweta residents pleaded guilty Friday to uttering a counterfeit instrument, a media release states.
Mackenzie Faircloth, 23, and Jill Thompson, 48, were indicted in January. They were accused of trying to pass eight $20 bills and one $100 bill, all counterfeit, at a Walmart store in December, according to the release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Faircloth and Thompson will be sentenced after a presentencing report is completed.
The punishment is up to 20 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $250,000.
