A Muskogee man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly holding a gun to a woman’s head in the presence of children.
Zavyon Lott, 23, was arrested on complaints of:
• Reckless conduct with a firearm;
• Possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony;
• Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; and
• Assault and battery in the presence of a minor.
Lott is held at the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility on $15,000 bond.
Muskogee Police Lt. Bobby Lee said officers were called to 1422 W. Broadway at 3:26 a.m. Wednesday.
Lee said officers entered the house and saw a man and woman arguing and throwing items at each other. Lee didn’t specify the relationship of the two people, but said they both lived at the address.
“There were obvious signs of a struggle that officers noticed,” Lee said. “The victim had some injuries on her hand and forehead from the fighting.”
Lee said emergency crews were called to check on the woman, but she refused treatment.
The woman told officers Lott placed the handgun to her head during the fight.
“The suspect then made a threat to shoot the victim,” Lee said. “(Lott) then walked to the back of the residence and fired the weapon one time.”
Children were present during the fighting, Lee said. Department of Human Services was called to the address. The children were allowed to stay at the home, Lee said.
Lee said the weapon was recovered by officers.
