A former Muskogee High School football star was sentenced to 30 years Friday for the vicious beating and robbery of a tow truck operator.
Braxton Owens, 25, was sentenced to 20 years in jail followed by 10 years of probation for beating and robbing 74-year old E.J. Mayes on May 19, 2011 at his automotive repair shop.
Owens pleaded guilty July 11 to charges of robbery by force or fear and conspiracy.
