OKLAHOMA CITY — Stigler junior Blair Olzawski served as a page to the Oklahoma House of Representatives, sponsored by Representative Ed Cannaday, D-Porum, the week of March 2-6.
During their week as pages for the House, pages are able to sit in on legislative sessions, assist legislators and legislative assistants, and also participate in a mock legislature, where Blair served as a representative. During the mock legislature, pages participate in committee meetings, as well as debating a bill on the House floor.
“Paging at the capitol is a great learning experience for our young people,” Cannaday said. “They are able to see the legislative process first-hand and also become an important part of this process during their week of service.”
Blair is the daughter of Craig and Ashley Olzawski and participates in band and choir at Stigler High School.
