OKLAHOMA CITY — A Warner woman and a Braggs man were among 27 Oklahoma beef producers who were nominated and selected to take part in the 2nd Annual Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association’s Cattlemen’s Leadership Academy. The Academy participants are members of the OCA, however they represent the entire state.
Class II CLA members included Ruth Nelson of Warner and Gary Isbell of Braggs.
Members of the House and Senate Agriculture and Commerce Committees and Secretary of Agriculture Terry Peach visited with the group about agricultural issues.
The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry also hosted the CLA group. The CLA participants toured the ODAFF’s new laboratory and see first-hand how laboratory services can be utilized by beef producers.
The CLA class members had the opportunity to tour Express Ranches, Yukon. While at Express, CLA participants walked through the embryo transfer facility and observed the embryo transfer process up close.
The second session of the 2nd Annual Cattlemen’s Leadership Academy is scheduled for April 23-24 in Ardmore.
