Brady Etchison of Muskogee is in listed in critical condition Thursday in the Cincinnati Shriners Hospital, said spokeswoman Louise C. Hoelker.
Etchison, 15, was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer southbound on a two-lane gravel road at a high rate of speed, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Etchison lost control of the vehicle and ran off the west side of the county road, striking an electric pole, the OHP report released Thursday said.
Upon exiting the vehicle, Etchison was struck by power lines, the report said.
The cause of the collision was listed as unsafe speed and inexperienced driver on the OHP report.
OHP Trooper Robert Francis said earlier that Etchison received extensive burns over most of his body.
Etchison was first taken to Hillcrest Burn Center in Tulsa and then transported to the Shriners Hospital in Cincinnati.
