TAHLEQUAH — The United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma will host their ninth annual Keetoowah Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Keetoowah Cherokee Celebration Grounds, south of town off West Willis Road. UKB tribal members, as well as the general public, are invited to attend. Many activities are planned that day including three egg hunts and a water balloon toss,
The festivities will begin with the Easter egg hunts. There will be three age categories for the egg hunts: 1-3 years; 4-7 years; and 8-12 years. Approximately 3,000 eggs will be hidden. Prizes will be awarded to those finding the chief’s egg, the assistant chief’s egg, and the prize egg in each age group. There will also be a water balloon toss for teens 13 to 15 years of age. The event is coordinated by the UKB Tribal Community Coordinators Brenda Locust and Hominy Littledave with the help of employee volunteers. Information: 431-1818.
