A grass fire near Crandall Salvage in Checotah jumped a fence and threatened houses for a time Tuesday afternoon, a police dispatcher said.
The fire began about 3:30 p.m. and was under control by 5:45 p.m., she said.
Fire departments from Onapa, Rentiesville, Shady Grove and Lotawatah were released because Checotah Fire Department could manage the hot spots left by 5:45 p.m., the dispatcher said.
There were no injuries, she said.
