TAHLEQUAH — The Cherokee Nation is now taking applications for its 2009 Camp Cherokee.
Camp Cherokee is open to any Cherokee Nation citizen entering sixth through 12th grade, and will be held at Heart O’ Hills Camp and Conference Center in Welling from July 19-25. Friends and family are invited to enjoy the performance and projects showcase on July 25.
There is no cost to attend. There will be a limit of 320 students accepted to the camp, so early enrollment is encouraged. Classes will take place during the day, and the evening hours will provide time for recreation, enrichment and plenary camp events.
Class sizes are limited, and certain classes have age limits. Early applicants will receive preference.
To request an application, e-mail camp@cherokee.org, or call Bill Andoe at 453-5153, or Daniel Faddis at 453-5224. Applications can also be downloaded at http://camp.cherokee.org.
