A wrecker driver from Tulsa called the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to report a piece of a truck fell on him as he was trying to pick up a disabled truck near Muskogee late Thursday afternoon.
The driver, an employee with BJS Wrecker Service of Tulsa, was bleeding from his head, said Muskogee firefighters called to the site near the Arkansas River Bridge on the Muskogee Turnpike.
The driver had a lot of blood on his face but was able to talk, firefighters said.
An employee of BJS Wrecker Service was reached by phone and said all he knew was that the injured driver got a cut on his head, and his condition was not available.
He declined to identify the driver.
The fire department had been to the site earlier to put out a fire on the disabled truck belonging to Advanced File Systems of Tulsa, said Muskogee Fire Capt. Byron Moore. Firefighters returned to the scene after the wrecker driver was injured, Moore said.
