A single ceiling tile at Big Lots, 2300 E. Shawnee Bypass, fell Friday afternoon, hitting a customer who was sent to Muskogee Regional Medical Center by ambulance, a manager confirmed.
The person’s name was not revealed.
Manager Dustin Salmon said it was a single ceiling tile. The roof is leaking where the tile fell, he said.
Salmon said he was told the person the tile fell on did not appear to be seriously injured.
“I don’t know any more details,” he said.
No additional information from the Public Relations Office at Big Lots corporate office Friday afternoon was available.
“The roof was new — it was two months old — but the storm got it,” Salmon said.
People were on site fixing the roof, which was leaking in several places, he said.
