At its regular meeting Monday, the Hilldale School Board:
• Extended Superintendent D.B. Merrill’s contract through June 30, 2012.
• Agreed to buy 10 acres north of Smith Ferry Road and east of Cherokee Street.
• Hired a new high school special education teacher and a middle school math teacher.
• Appointed board members Eldon Schoonover and Terri Breedlove with Jeff Sanders as an alternate, to attend a settlement conference set for Feb. 10 in U.S. District Court.
