The local branch of the NAACP will hold an election of officers from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Martin Luther King Center, 627 N. Third St.
Nominees are: president, Derrick Reed; 1st vice president, Sheila Manuel Crutcher, 2nd vice president, Pastor Roscoe Beasley; secretary, Anika Ture Lolles; treasurer, Herman B. Barrett; executive committee members, Cedric Johnson, Betty Baucom McConnell and Dr. Virginia Schoats.
According to the national organization, only members in good standing 30 days prior to the election date are to be considered eligible to cast a vote. If you have any questions regarding your eligibility to vote, please contact the current branch secretary at 687-9760 between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon on Friday.
