Organizers are planning the second Community Unity Thanksgiving Dinner, a free event to promote unity. The event will feature a free turkey dinner. There will also be entertainment, with singing, guitar playing and recitation of Thanksgiving poems.
Students from Muskogee High School are volunteering to help with everything from serving to entertaining. There will be drawings for different prizes.
A clothing giveaway is planned, and anyone interested will be issued a bag they can fill with clothing. The event is intended to give back to the community, give young people a chance to volunteer, and bring the community together. Andre Freeman, one of the organizers, said they also want to show that there are talented students doing positive things in the community. The free dinner will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Martin Luther King Center, 627 N. Third St.
Information: 360-5470 or 685-0389.
