A Stilwell woman was killed and a man injured in a single-vehicle crash about two miles east of Stilwell on Oklahoma 51, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
Sherri Sam, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries. She was taken to Hart’s Funeral Home in Stilwell. Sampson Sam, 45, was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark., where he was admitted in serious condition with multiple injuries, the report states.
According to OHP, the collision happened about 11:25 a.m. Tuesday. Sampson Sam was driving a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser eastbound when he ran off the north side of the road and struck an embankment, which caused the vehicle to go airborne. The vehicle rolled before coming to rest in a ravine. Sherri Sam was ejected 30 feet from the vehicle. Air bags did deploy. Neither Sherri nor Sampson Sam were wearing seat belts, the report states.
