Harding University student Lauren Branch of Muskogee is touring various religious establishments in Chicago during an educational tour through Sunday.
The trip is culmination of the class “Living World Religions” taught by Monte Cox, dean of the college of Bible and Religion at Harding College, in Searcy, Ark. The group of 78 students will visit a Baha’i house of prayer, an Islamic mosque, a Soka Gakkai Buddhist center, a conservative Jewish synagogue, a Hindu temple and a Sikh temple.
Cox called the field trip “an exercise in genuine, respectful listening and dialogue.”
