Jeremy Dewayne Grimmett, 29, of Stilwell pleaded guilty in federal court to assault with a dangerous weapon. On July 12, Grimmett fired a pistol into the air, then struck an individual in the head with the pistol, knocked him to the ground and continued striking him on the head. He then shot at a witness.
Sentencing will be at a later date following a presentence investigation. He could be sentenced up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine up to $250,000.
