TAHLEQUAH — The Cherokee Nation’s motor vehicle tag offices will be closed on various dates throughout the month of November. Tag offices are located in Tahlequah, Collinsville, Gore and Adair.
Each office will be closed Nov. 11 for Veterans Day; Nov. 19 for staff development; and Nov. 27 and Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving.
Cherokee Nation’s tag offices provide Cherokee Nation citizens living in the 14-county jurisdictional area of the tribe the opportunity to purchase tribal motor vehicle tags. A portion of the revenue from each tag sold is contributed annually to area school districts. During the past five years, since the tribal motor vehicle tag program began, the Cherokee Nation has contributed more than $13 million to help schools in its 14-county tribal service jurisdiction.
