The Muskogee Civic Center’s Web site is up and running, said Cassandra Gaines, civic center manager.
The site is a link on the city’s site. It includes a calendar of events, a video tour and a brochure listing rates for use. Gaines hopes to see more conferences scheduled for Muskogee.
“They can see what we have to offer,” Gaines said.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation recently met at the civic center.
“I got e-mails about how good a time they had,” Gaines said. “They realize we are a conference city, as well.”
In addition to the conference, entertainment was provided.
“That’s our first conference and first entertainment,” Gaines said.
Future conferences can expect the same type of activities, she said.
“The city of Muskogee and chamber of commerce will have something for them to do after their meetings,” Gaines said.
Gaines said they have conference themes to select entertainment.
These packages offer interested organizations to choose a package for their conference: Blues and Catfish; Casino Night; Bluegrass on the Square; Broadway Night and Margaritaville Party.
Photos from the recent “Blues and Catfish” are available on the Web site.
“Every activity we will be doing, they can see the pictures,” Gaines said. “We want people to know what’s available at the civic center.”
