Free prostate cancer screenings will be offered at Muskogee Regional Medical Center from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 16. This is the 17th annual free prostate screening to be offered by MRMC.
The screenings will be in the MRMC Cancer Center on the hospital's east side, off 33rd Street. Exams will be conducted by MRMC Medical Staff Urologists James L. Henderson, MD and Jewel Daniels, MD; Medical Oncologist Ravikumar Vasireddy, MD; Radiation Oncologist L. M. Cibula, MD and Charles Mutch, PA. The examination will consist of a digital rectal exam and a PSA blood test.
The free screening is limited to men 50 and older, or those between the ages of 40 and 50 who have a family incidence of prostate cancer. Men who have had a normal prostate exam within the past year do not need to attend this screening.
A limited number of appointments are available, and advance appointments are required. For an appointment, call the Public Relations Department: 684-2363, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
