A Sallisaw man was hospitalized after being pinned under a car he crashed Friday, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
Joel R. Poindexter, 58, was stable when he was taken to Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark., the report states.
He was injured at 1:55 p.m. on a two-lane, asphalt county road. He was driving a 1988 Chevrolet Nova eastbound when he ran off the south side of the road, overcorrected and the vehicle overturned, pinning Poindexter for 50 minutes before he could be freed by the Muldrow and Maple fire departments. He was wearing a seat belt, the OHP report states.
