EMS announces October class schedule

Muskogee County EMS will offer the following classes during the month of October.



• 10 a.m. Saturday Oct. 4, CPR for the infant and child victim. This class teaches the fundamentals of doing CPR and the Heimlich maneuver on any victim newborn to 8 years old. This class meets the Department of Human Services requirements for the child care providers.

• Noon Saturday Oct. 4, Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid. This class teaches the fundamentals of First Aid for emergencies in the child care setting. This class meets the Department of Human Services requirements for the child care providers.

• 9 a.m. Monday Oct. 6 ,CPR for the Health Care Provider. This class teaches the fundamentals of doing CPR on the infant, child or adult victims and automatic external defibrillator. The use of a various barrier devices will also be taught.

• 10 a.m. Friday Oct. 17, CPR for the Health Care Provider. This class teaches the fundamentals of doing CPR on the infant, child or adult victims and automatic external defibrillator. The use of a various barrier devices will also be taught.

• 9 a.m. Monday Oct. 20, Health Care Provider re-certification course. This class is for the Health Care Provider who has a current CPR card, but is near expiration.

• 10 a.m. Friday Oct. 31, Heartsaver adult CPR. This class teaches the fundamentals of doing CPR on the adult victim. The use of a variety of barrier devices will also be taught.

• 1 p.m. Friday Oct. 31, Heartsaver First Aid. This classes teaches the fundamentals First Aid for a variety of medical emergencies and injuries.



All classes are taught at the Muskogee office at 200 Callahan St.

The cost of all classes includes the required textbook and CPR card. Pre-enrollment is required at least 48 hours in advance of the class, due to limited space. To enroll, call 683-0130, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by email at delsiel@mcems.us.
