Eugene Blankenship picked up three endorsements in his bid for the District 14 seat in the House of Representatives.
A Democrat, Blankenship seeks to unseat Republican incumbent George Faught in the Nov. 4 general election.
Blankenship recently won the support of the Oklahoma Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers and the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association, his campaign reported. The organizations represent teachers, support personnel and retired educators from across Oklahoma.
“Eugene Blankenship has demonstrated that he is a champion for our children and working people, and Oklahoma’s public educators need that kind of champion representing them at the Capitol,” said Mark Peters, president of the Muskogee Education Association. “Democrat Eugene Blankenship represents the fresh start we need at the Capitol.”
Cristi Thomson, HACT president, said Blankenship “is the best candidate to address the needs of our public schools and the children we serve.”
