OKLAHOMA CITY — State Senator Earl Garrison, D-Muskogee, recently received the 2008 “Legislative Excellence in Rural Health Award” from the Rural Health Association for Oklahoma.
“I’m humbled and honored to receive this award,” Garrison said. “As a legislator, I have been committed to helping improve health care services for all Oklahomans, especially in the rural area where access to health care is often limited. I will continue to push for an increase in health care services for those in need and help lower the cost of health care for everyone.”
Other RHAO award recipients were Rep. Paul Roan; D-Tishomingo; Rep. Earl Sears; R- Bartlesville; Joan Walters, administrator of Prague Hospital, “Rural Administrator of the Year;” Dr. Michael Cooper, physician at Community Health Services in Tipton, “Rural Practitioner of the Year,” and Physician Manpower Training Commission, “Rural Organization of the Year.”
