A nonprofit organization dedicated to the recruitment and training of American Indians to run for elected office endorsed Eugene Blankenship’s campaign for the District 14 seat in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.
INDN List spokeswoman Kalyn Free said the Muskogee Democrat is a strong supporter of public schools and other issues important to the group.
Blankenship, who serves Muskogee County as its emergency management director and floodplain manager, also picked up the endorsement of International Association of Fire Fighters Local 57 in Muskogee and Local 176 in Tulsa.
Faught, R-Muskogee, and Blankenship will square off Nov. 4 during the general election. Neither man drew primary opponents.
