A Dyer, Ark., man who jumped from a moving truck on Interstate 40 Friday afternoon has been released from Tulsa’s St. Francis Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported the Michael C. Fisher, 46, was injured in an incident at about 3:20 p.m. in the eastbound lanes at mile marker 299 in Sequoyah County.
The report states Fisher was a passenger in a 2005 Chevrolet truck driven by Jeremy S. Wood, 25, of Van Buren, Ark. The men heard a loud noise and Wood began pulling the vehicle to the shoulder. Fisher looked back and yelled “fire” and jumped from the truck before it stopped, the report states.
Fisher hit his head in the fall, but was not run over by the vehicle, according to the report.
Fisher was transported by ambulance to the Vian football field and then transported by helicopter to t he Tulsa hospital.
