TAHLEQUAH — The Cherokee Nation will host the 4th Annual State of Sequoyah Conference on Aug. 28 and 29, in the Technology Auditorium of Northeastern State University (NSU). The conference is being held in conjunction with the 56th Annual Cherokee National Holiday held every year over Labor Day weekend in Tahlequah.
Nationally recognized authors, historians and educators will present information about Cherokee history, culture and contemporary issues that affect the tribe today and are of interest to Cherokee citizens.
The event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required and must be completed by 5 p.m. Aug. 25.
Parking is limited. A shuttle service will be provided at NSU’s Gable Field for those attending the conference.
