AM UPDATE: Public radio station back on the air

After weeks of dealing with high winds and thunderstorms, KOSU, public radio station, is back on the air in northeastern Oklahoma.

The station was knocked out of service on Memorial Day when lightning caused significant damage to its Ketchum transmitter and antenna system. As a result, KOSU’s stations at 107.5 fm, 107.3 fm and 101.9 were off the air until June 22.

Although the damage is insured, KOSU has a $5,000 deductible. The station is asking listeners for financial support to help cover costs associated with the lightning damage. To help support the KOSU lightning damage fund, visit www.kosu.org or call (800) 228-4678.
