Execution of a search warrant in Okay netted about 3.5 pounds of marijuana, more than $3,000 in cash and one arrest, said Okay Police Chief Ron Lee.
The marijuana is worth about $1,500 a pound, Lee said.
Booked into Wagoner County Jail in connection with the seizure at 7122 N. 38th St. East on Sunday night — Gary Don Burwell, 44.
Many items of drug paraphernalia, including scales and pipes, were confiscated, Lee said Tuesday.
A juvenile in the home at the time of the arrest was allowed to leave with a relative. The Department of Human Services was notified, officials said.
Lee said the search warrant was issued after a good deal of surveillance. There appeared to be a wide range of marijuana customers, he said.
“The way some of the marijuana was packaged was indicative of a larger crime organization,” Lee said. “That is of concern because this is a small community.”
He said Burwell is a longtime Okay resident.
