TAHLEQUAH — The Cherokee Nation will host a public forum from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Tsa-La-Gi Community Room, located behind the Restaurant of the Cherokees.
Members of the Cherokee Nation Negotiation Team will be present to give the public a brief overview of the negotiation proceedings with Indian Health Services regarding the assumption of operations at W.W. Hastings Indian Hospital by the Cherokee Nation. Questions will be randomly drawn and addressed by the group members as time allows.
The forum will be moderated by Tribal Council Representative Dr. Bradley Cobb who serves as Health Committee Chair. Tribal Council Speaker Meredith Frailey, Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Melanie Knight and Cherokee Nation Health Services Group Leader Melissa Gower will also be present to assist with the discussion.
