The names of Porum man and a Quinton woman who were killed in a collision in Haskell County Wednesday have been released by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
James Arthur Weathers, 23, and Kelly Denise Ward, 42, were both taken to Mallory Funeral Home in Stigler.
Injured were Shandell D. Clayton, 30, of Quinton; Terry Leon Buffington, 35, of Stigler; Sammy Dwight Copeman, 37, of Stigler; and John Bullard, 27, of Stigler.
According to the OHP, the crash happened at 5:10 p.m. on Sandridge Road at County Road 1220, about 6 1/2 miles west of Whitefield in Haskell County. Weathers was driving a 1992 Nissan Sentra westbound on County Road 1220, failed to stop at a stop sign, and was struck by a 1984 Jeep driven northbound by Buffington. After the impact, the Nissan spun several times, ejecting Ward. The Jeep overturned ejecting Bullard. Weathers was pinned for approximately two hours. Buffington and Copeman were the only ones involved were wearing seat belts, OHP states.
