A Haskell man underwent surgery Friday morning at a Tulsa hospital for injuries he sustained in a collision about 1:49 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 64 just west of 157th E. Ave. in Tulsa County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported James Claiborne, 40, was admitted to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa with head and external trunk injuries. He was listed in serious condition Friday afternoon, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Claiborne was westbound on U.S. 64 on a 2005 Harley-Davidson when Juanita McMurrian attempted a U-turn from the westbound shoulder, the OHP reported. She was driving a 1991 Chevrolet mail truck.
McMurrian, 61, of Bixby was not injured, according to the OHP report.
McMurrian was wearing a seatbelt at the time. Claiborne was not wearing a helmet, the report states.
