An 18-year-old Roland man died in a collision on a two-lane gravel road four miles south and one-tenth of a mile east of Roland, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Zane Wayt was driving eastbound at 4:40 a.m. Sunday in a 2000 Chevrolet pickup when the vehicle went left of center, then traveled back to the right, and flipped end over end into a deep ditch, landing on its top, the OHP reported.
Wayt died at the scene, the report states.
A passenger in the pickup, Alex Cole, 16, of Roland, refused treatment at the scene, the OHP reported.
The investigating officer reported there was the odor of alcoholic beverages on Wayt. It was not known whether his seat belt was in use.
Cole’s seat belt was in use, according to the report.
