Two people were injured after a driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Pickup ran into a tree while trying to elude a Cherokee County deputy, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The car failed to stop at a stop sign and left approximately 80 feet of skid marks before running off the roadway and striking a tree, according the OHP. The passenger was pinned approximately 20 minutes before being freed by Tahlequah Fire and Rescue personnel.
The accident, which happen at 10:33 p.m. Friday at Ross Road and Nalley Road in Cherokee County, sent driver Charles Neugin, 27, of Tahlequah, to the St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa with head, trunk internal, leg and arm injuries.
