EUFAULA — Three women were injured late Monday when the car they were in collided with tractor being used to move a round bale of hay out of the westbound lane of Oklahoma 9 about eight miles west of town.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Myrl M. Newport, 79, of Wetumka was driving west at about 10:45 p.m. when the 2003 Chevrolet Malibu she was driving collided with a 2005 Kubota tractor operated by Joseph R. Davis, 21, of Hannah.
Davis escaped injury. Newport was transported by helicopter from Henryetta Medical Center to Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, where she was being treated Tuesday for head and leg injuries.
Two passengers riding with Newport — Nellie A. Haley, 81, Dustin, and Loretta Goodin, 81, Wetumka — also sustained injuries. Haley was transported by helicopter to Hillcrest Medical Center, where she was treated arm and leg injuries. Goodin was transported by helicopter to St. John Medical Center with head, leg and internal trunk injuries.
Goodin was listed in critical condition Tuesday. Newport and Haley were listed as stable.
The OHP report indicates seat belts were not in use. Two airbags deployed in the Malibu.
