TAHLEQUAH — The Cherokee Nation will host a Healthy Nation Camp at Camp Heart O’ Hills in Welling. The camp will begin at 4 p.m. Oct. 12 and run through the afternoon hours Oct. 14.
The camp is free. At least one member per family must be a citizen of the Cherokee Nation. All ages are welcome, and all meals are provided. Participants need to bring twin-size bedding, including sheets, blankets, pillows or sleeping bag as well as towels, wash cloths and comfortable shoes and clothes for activities.
Campers will attend educational classes on nutrition, physical activity, tobacco abuse awareness and asthma. Campers also will attend arts-and-craft classes.
