Roland jail employee charged in drug theft
SALLISAW — A Roland Jail employee was charged Friday in Sequoyah County District Court with one count of larceny of a controlled dangerous substance.
Assistant District Attorney Kyle Waters said the charging information alleges James McAlister stole some hydrocodone that was prescribed to an inmate being held in the municipal jail.
An arrest warrant, which Waters said was issued when the charges were filed, has yet to be executed. There was nobody available Friday at the Roland Police Department who would comment about the allegations or McAlister’s employment status.
