A $1,000 prize will be awarded to one of the non-profit groups sending a delegate to a kickoff meeting of the Muskogee Nonprofit Resource Center on March 6, said Lisa Raasch, executive director.
The event will be at 9 a.m. at the Mike Synar Center on the Northeastern State University Muskogee campus.
Those who bring a 501(c) tax exempt letter and complete a brief questionnaire about the organization they represent will earn a chance to win the $1,000 for their group.
The event is to acquaint community leaders and volunteers with the mission and services offered by the new Muskogee Nonprofit Resource Center. In addition, participants will be encouraged to share successes, challenges and opportunities facing their individual organizations and the broader Muskogee nonprofit community.
“Muskogee is fortunate to have a vibrant non-profit community through which generous, caring people make a meaningful difference in the lives of others,” Raasch said. “Muskogee’s needs are many, but through collaboration, innovation and lots of hard work, the nonprofit community can be an even more powerful force for good within the city. ”
The Muskogee Nonprofit Resource Center was created by Neighbors Building Neighborhoods and inspired by a city-wide strategic planning process in the 1990s.
Reservations are encouraged by March 2. Call 683-4600 or e-mail info@muskogeenonprofits.org.
