\A former Hilldale Public Schools band director accused of raping, sodomizing and molesting two former students could face similar charges in Custer County, authorities said Friday.
Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney Nikki Dotson Baker said one student told investigators Danny Brian Giacomo raped her during a band trip.
“We have evidence that a rape occurred in Weatherford,” Dotson said. “We are forwarding the information we have to the district attorney there.”
Dotson said the Custer County District Attorney’s office ultimately will decide whether to charge Giacomo there.
Custer County District Attorney Dennis A. Smith could not be reached for comment Friday night.
Giacomo, the former Hilldale High and Middle schools band director, already faces eight felonies and one misdemeanor resulting from allegations made by two of Giacomo’s former students — a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old.
Dotson declined to identify which girl provided the information about the alleged rape in Weatherford. While refusing to rule out the possibility there may be more students with similar claims, Dotson said the alleged rape in Weatherford did not involve a third student.
Giacomo, who is being held on $100,000 bond in Muskogee County/City Detention Facility, is scheduled to appear Thursday before Special District Judge Robin Adair for a bond reduction hearing.
