A Guatemalan national scheduled for trial Thursday on a second-degree rape charge opted to plead guilty.
Maximiliano Mateo, 30, was ordered to serve 15 years of unsupervised probation. Mateo agreed to be deported.
Mateo was arrested Christmas Eve for feloniously pointing a firearm and assaulting and battering a girlfriend. The second-degree rape charge was filed just more than a week later after a 13-year-old girl showed up at Muskogee County/City Detention Facility a week later to visit Mateo.
Muskogee County Sheriff’s Investigator Jan Ray said jail staffers began asking the 13-year-old girl questions about her pregnancy. When she told authorities Mateo was the father of the unborn child, the second-degree rape charge was filed.
According to court records, the two charges resulting from the alleged domestic assault and battery are pending. Mateo is scheduled to appear on those charges Jan. 26 for a disposition docket.
Mateo remains in Muskogee County/City Detention Facility in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
