WAGONER — Testimony is expected to begin today in the first-degree murder trial of a Coweta man charged in connection with the death of his stepfather.
Jason Bly, 26, is accused along with his common-law wife of killing Roger Minter, 59, also of Coweta. Attorneys spent most of Monday picking a jury.
Karen Bly-Raya, 43, was expected to plead guilty last week and possibly testify against Jason Bly.
Prosecutors said she backed out at the last minute and is expected to be tried for murder early next year.
Investigators allege the Coweta couple choked, then beat Minter in his Coweta apartment. According to authorities, Minter’s body was left inside his apartment for a couple of days before being dumped in a pond near Red Bird.
