A Muskogee man accused of molesting a 7-year-old girl will stand trial for two of the four charges that were filed against him, said Kristin Littlefield, assistant district attorney.
Lonnie Wayne Stevens, 61, was ordered bound over on charges of lewd molestation and rape by instrumentation. Although he had been charged with attempted first-degree rape and forcible sodomy, sufficient probable cause was not proven for those charges to stand, and they were dismissed.
Stevens’ bond also was reduced and set at $100,000. He remained incarcerated at the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility as of Thursday evening.
Stevens will be back in Muskogee County District Court at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 9 for a district court arraignment. At that time, he will enter a formal plea to the charges, and a date will be set for a disposition docket before going to trial.
