TAHLEQUAH – The Cherokee Nation will honor veterans at 10 a.m. Friday at the Cherokee Warriors Memorial. The event will include a helicopter fly in (weather permitting), wreath ceremony, remarks from Principal Chief Bill John Baker and other officials, as well as performances from the Sequoyah High School Band and Cherokee National Youth Choir. To honor its veterans, the tribe is completing a $2.5 million center for veteran activities and services to open in May 2013.
The public is welcome to attend.
