A woman who allowed a 4-year-old to become brain-damaged by drugs nearly 13 years ago has been charged with a similar crime.
Elizabeth Nadine Job, 39, of Muskogee is charged in Muskogee County District Court with “willfully/maliciously” taking a 17-year-old juvenile from her home, hiding the juvenile from law enforcement and her guardians and offering her drugs, court documents state.
Job is charged with felony child abuse and possession of a controlled substance in the presence of a minor.
She had been released Tuesday from the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility on $10,000 bond.
The recent court filing states the juvenile Job is accused of endangering on Sept. 15 “is mentally retarded due to past drug overdoses of PCP while in Elizabeth Job’s care.”
Job was convicted in 1999 of felonious neglect, according to court documents.
She received a one-year deferred sentence and was ordered to undergo a treatment plan with the Department of Human Services.
In the “summary of fact” paperwork signed by Job after her 1999 guilty plea, she said, “I took (the child) to the home of some drug users, and she apparently absorbed some PCP into her skin resulting in an adverse reaction. And I knew that persons in the home were past drug users and should not have had (the child) in that environment.”
According to the 1999 case documents, PCP was found in the child’s bloodstream.
Felony child abuse carries a sentence of up to life imprisonment upon conviction.
Possession in presence of a minor carries a sentence of two to 10 years.
