Porter Consolidated Schools held elementary and junior high spelling bees Jan. 24. Fourth-grader Kylie Edwards won the elementary bee, while eighth-grader Cheyenne Moore won the junior high event. Third-grader Hope Gilbert and seventh-grader Anthony Rodriguez were runners-up. All four advance to the regional spelling bee on March 29 at the Muskogee Civic Center.
First-grader Courtney Dickey, second-grader Raven Milne, fifth-grader Collin Plunk and sixth-grader Chris Welch also participated in the event.
