BREAKING NEWS: Man shocked while allegedly attempting to steal transformer

— A man was shocked early Saturday when he climbed an electric pole in Warner in an alleged attempt to steal an electric transformer, according to a media release from the Muskogee County Sheriff's Department.

Russell Barlow, 40, climbed the pole in an area of Warner commonly known as "Tater Hill" about 5:30 a.m.

Investigators believe Barlow was trying to steal the transformer to remove the copper to sell.

Barlow was flown to a Tulsa hospital.
