BREAKING NEWS: Muskogee to be branded as "Warrior City"

— Muskogee will soon be known as “Warrior City” as a result of a branding project sponsored by the Greater Muskogee Area Chamber of Commerce.

Consultant Roger Brooks, of Destination Development International, said Muskogee’s brand is based on its existing attractions, veterans’ services, Native American history and much more.

However, there won’t be a big “roll out” of the new brand. Brooks said the goal is to begin hosting major events that tie into the theme some time in 2014. The long-term goal is to create a major attraction in the next five years that will bring thousands of visitors to the area that ties the theme together.
