TAHLEQUAH — A Stilwell man accused of leading Tahlequah police on a high-speed pursuit last week has been charged in district court.
Damon Green, 28, allegedly ran a stop light at Muskogee Avenue and Rayne Street, and sped off when police tried to pull him over. The pursuit topped 120 mph, according to court documents.
Green escaped and Cherokee Nation marshals later went to Green’s home and arrested him.
Court documents allege Green caused another driver to run off the road during the pursuit. He’s also accused of having an open container and of driving without a license.
Green was held on a $20,000 bond and is set to appear in court 1 p.m. Sept. 11.
